A BIT ABOUT ME
Dr. Elizabeth Brown enjoys a diverse musical career as a teacher and collaborative pianist in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. After receiving her doctorate in piano from the University of Maryland, she served on UMD's faculty as lecturer for several years. Dr. Brown has over 15 years' experience teaching piano at every skill level. She helps beginners come to a love of music and enjoys working with more advanced students to polish their technique and develop their musicianship. Dr. Brown's studio also includes many adult piano students, from beginners to experienced pianists, all of whom enjoy continuous musical learning.
Dr. Brown performs regularly as a chamber musician in the D.C. area and currently plays at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cheverly, MD. Before her doctorate, Dr. Brown received her masters degree in collaborative piano from the University of Maryland. She previously graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University, where she received dual Bachelors Degrees in English Literature and Piano Performance and where she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
